On behalf of SALEF, and with deep gratitude, I am writing to thank you for your continued support to SALEF. On October 30th, just a few days ago, we celebrated our 20th Anniversary in downtown Los Angeles.
SALEF’s 20th Anniversary Celebration gala was a total success, attended by over 350 guests. The celebration was a grand opportunity to honor distinguished community members and this year’s SALEF’s Fulfilling Our Dreams Scholarship recipients.
SALEF’s honorees included, the Honorable Kevin De Leon, Senate President Pro Temp, the Honorable Steve Zimmer, LAUSD school board President, The California
Wellness Foundation, Raul Bustillos, SVP, Bank of America, and Ana Castro, from SEIU-USWW. We were honored to have special guests such as Congress member Judy Chu, Supervisor Hilda Solis, Assembly member Miguel Santiago, Councilmembers Curren Price, Mitch O. Farrell, Bob Blumenfield, David Ryu, L.A. Community College Vice President Mike Eng, L.A. Community College Board member Mike Fong, L.A. Community College District Chancellor Francisco C. Rodriguez, Ana Guerrero, Chief of Staff to Mayor Eric Garcetti, labor leaders Bob Schoonover, President SEIU, Local 721, David Huerta, President, SEIU-USWW, corporate sponsors, and many others.
